Our Story

LEGACY HOSPITALITY’S
MISSION

Our mission is to work together to provide people with an experience that is elevated beyond the ordinary. We strive to provide an adaptable environment where employees, and guests alike, will create great memories, enjoy the moment and make anticipated plans. We achieve this mission by putting our employees first.

The Vig is a 1950’s themed sports parlor with two vibrant locations in Chicago: the original in Old Town and the newest addition in West Loop. Both spots feature a refined kitchen and classic cocktails tailored for the contemporary drinker, all while embracing the playful storyline that it’s good to be bad. Inspiration is drawn from iconic movies, legendary sports moments, and historical scenarios where we reluctantly find ourselves rooting for the villain. This concept influences everything from our architectural design to our food and drink menus. Every aspect of The Vig is thoughtfully designed to inspire the lost art of conversation. Since opening in Old Town in October 2015 and now expanding to West Loop in October 2024, we’ve been dedicated to serving enticing food and beverages in a refined sports parlor atmosphere that brings people together.

It’s important to make a distinction between the term “The Whale” and “high roller” since in the eyes of the casino they are two very different things. While there is no exact definition of what constitutes each category, a general assumption would be that a high roller has a gambling budget of anywhere from $100,000 up to around $1M for a typical 3 day weekend trip to the casino. When we start to get over the $1M bankroll mark, this is when the casino would probably start considering the player a Whale. Whales typically have a budget (front money or a credit line) ranging anywhere from $1M to $20M and in a weekend could easily be up or down millions. They are usually betting over $25,000 per hand and enjoy the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to comps, freebies and other perks from the casino.

Welcome Back, at its very core, is the description of hospitality. A place that no matter if you had been there before or not, you immediately feel like a regular.  With a late 1970s early 1980s feel and a place where friends can meet on the reg. Just celebrating our school house years! Your new favorite neighborhood watering hole, where it’s good to be bad!
